If your idea of a park workout usually means walking laps around Wilson Park, Guenser Park offers a smaller and much quieter alternative.

Located at 17800 Gramercy Place, the 7.8-acre park includes many of the amenities you would expect — picnic space, barbecues, a playground, basketball court and softball diamond — but its less obvious feature is a .3-mile fitness course.

That makes Guenser an appealing option for anyone who wants to combine a short walk with some outdoor exercise without heading to one of Torrance’s busier recreation areas. There is also a horseshoe court, adding another slightly old-school feature that gives the park some personality.

It is not flashy. That is part of the appeal.
