Antares Locks In Fuel for Its Next Generation of Nuclear Reactors |
The Torrance nuclear startup has signed a multi-year domestic uranium-supply agreement. |

Torrance-based Antares Nuclear is building out the supply chain needed to turn its compact reactor technology into operating hardware.
Antares and Centrus Energy announced a definitive multi-year agreement under which Centrus will supply High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium, commonly known as HALEU.
Deliveries are expected to begin before the end of the decade. The fuel is intended to support Antares advanced reactor projects, including systems designed for space and national-security missions.
The agreement also includes prepayments from Antares that Centrus says will help support expansion of domestic enrichment capacity.
The announcement comes shortly after Antares received a $161 million U.S. Space Force award for its reactor-development program, giving the Torrance startup both a major government customer and a clearer path toward securing the specialized fuel its technology requires.
