Torrance Startup Education Gets a New STEM Maker Academy |
Steamoji has opened a hands-on robotics, coding and 3D-printing center in North Torrance. |

Torrance families now have another option for hands-on STEM learning.
Steamoji Torrance has opened at 17510A Hawthorne Boulevard, bringing a maker-academy model focused on science, technology, engineering and practical problem solving.
The center held its grand opening September 19 with demonstrations involving robotics, coding and 3D printing, along with hands-on projects designed to introduce children to fabrication and engineering concepts.
Rather than focusing only on classroom-style instruction, the program is designed around building and experimenting — giving students opportunities to work with tools and technologies increasingly common in engineering and advanced manufacturing.
That makes the concept particularly fitting for Torrance, where aerospace, robotics and advanced-manufacturing companies are becoming an increasingly visible part of the local economy.
