La Paloma Park May Be Torrance’s Easiest Park to Miss |
This tiny 0.4-acre green space is the definition of a neighborhood hidden gem. |

Not every hidden gem has to be spectacular.
Sometimes the charm is simply finding something you never knew existed.
La Paloma Park, located along Lomita Boulevard just east of Anza Avenue, is officially described by the City as a “vest pocket park.” It covers only 0.4 acres, making it one of the smallest parks in Torrance.
There is no sports complex, amphitheater or major attraction.
Instead, there is a grassy area and a children’s swing set tucked into a small neighborhood space.
That simplicity is exactly the point.
La Paloma is the kind of place that works for a quick stop with a young child, a few quiet minutes outside or simply discovering another little pocket of Torrance you may have passed for years without noticing.
Big parks get the attention.
Tiny parks like this one remind you that some of the city’s nicest surprises are hiding in places that barely announce themselves.
