Torrance’s Airport Is Getting a New Look |
The city is asking residents to weigh in on a new visual identity for Torrance Municipal Airport. |

Torrance Municipal Airport is getting a branding refresh — and residents are being invited into the process.
At the September 15 City Council meeting, the Citizen Development and Enrichment Committee brought forward new logo concepts for Torrance Municipal Airport for Council discussion and direction.
The city is also prominently promoting a “Help Us Choose Our New Airport Logo” campaign on its website, signaling that public input is part of the selection process.
The airport, officially known as Zamperini Field, has long occupied an unusual place in Torrance.
It is a working general-aviation airport, a site for aviation businesses and training, and a city landmark carrying the name of Olympian and World War II veteran Louis Zamperini.
That makes the logo more than a cosmetic detail.
A new identity has to communicate both the airport’s aviation role and its connection to Torrance.
For residents who have opinions about how the city presents one of its best-known public facilities, this is a relatively easy City Hall decision to participate in.
