Halloween festivities are arriving early in Old Torrance.

The Downtown Torrance Association’s annual Scaredown in Downtown returns Saturday, October 3, from 4 to 9 p.m.

The free event is designed as a family-friendly neighborhood celebration with trunk-or-treating, games, contests, live music, a DJ and a marketplace.

Discover Torrance’s Halloween guide also lists a Haunted Boo-tique, crafts, spooky photo opportunities and classic hearses on display.

The event spreads through historic Old Torrance, giving families a chance to combine Halloween activities with an evening walking through one of the city’s most distinctive neighborhoods.

The Torrance Historical Society is also participating from its Post Avenue museum location during the event.

Because thousands of visitors may converge on the downtown area, arriving early could make parking and walking around easier.
