No City Council Meeting Tuesday — Next Regular Meeting Is October 6 |
September 29 is a scheduled “dark night” on the Council calendar |

There will be no Torrance City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 29.
The date is listed on the City’s official 2026 calendar as a City Council dark night, which simply means no Council meeting is scheduled.
The Council’s September 22 closed-session agenda also formally adjourned the meeting to Tuesday, October 6, noting that September 29 would be a dark night.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for October 6.
Closed session is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., followed by regular public business at 6:30 p.m. in the LeRoy J. Jackson Council Chamber at City Hall.
Residents can attend in person, watch online or participate remotely during designated public-comment periods.
This matters because several items are already lining up for that meeting, including the proposed cottage-food ordinance changes and a public hearing on the City’s annual federal housing and community-development report.
So while this Tuesday is quiet at the Council dais, the following week is shaping up to be considerably busier.
