One of Torrance’s most distinctive local traditions returns this weekend.

The Torrance Historical Society will host its Original Fall Tour of Historic Homes on Saturday and Sunday, October 10–11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The self-guided tour begins at the Torrance Historical Society & Museum at 1345 Post Avenue and takes visitors inside a collection of historic Old Torrance homes representing architectural styles including Spanish Colonial Revival, Craftsman, Mission Revival and Tudor Revival.

Several of the homes are more than 100 years old, and each has been renovated or updated while preserving the character that makes Old Torrance distinctive.

Adding to the atmosphere, Model A cars will be parked outside featured homes, and visitors can enjoy complimentary lemonade and Torrance Bakery cookies along the way.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the Museum on either day of the tour. Proceeds support the Torrance Historical Society’s preservation, archival and educational work.

For architecture lovers—or anyone curious about what is behind some of Old Torrance’s most interesting front doors—this is one of the most unusual local events of the fall.
