Some of Torrance’s most creative residents and organizations will take center stage Sunday.

The City of Torrance is hosting its 48th Annual Excellence in Arts Awards, continuing a tradition that began in 1977.

Presented by the Torrance Cultural Arts Commission, the awards recognize achievement in categories including Dance, Drama and Theatre Arts, Music, Visual Arts and Design, Literary Arts and Emerging Artist.

The program also includes the Katy Geissert Award, honoring individuals whose contributions have made a lasting impact on the arts in Torrance.

This year’s celebration is scheduled for Sunday, October 11 at 2 p.m. at the Toyota Meeting Hall at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center.

The event offers residents a chance to discover some of the people working behind the scenes—and on stage—to keep Torrance’s arts community active and growing.
