A Torrance Dog-Adoption Event Needs 25 Helping Hands |
Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is looking for volunteers to help dogs get one step closer to permanent homes. |

For animal lovers looking for a hands-on way to help, a Torrance volunteer opportunity this weekend comes with four paws attached.
Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is seeking approximately 25 volunteers for a dog adoption and foster event in Torrance on Saturday, October 10.
The nonprofit says its mission is to rescue dogs of all breeds from Los Angeles-area shelters, including animals facing euthanasia, and work toward placing them in loving permanent homes.
Volunteers can help with the event for just a few hours, making this a relatively accessible way for residents to get involved without taking on a long-term commitment.
The opportunity is open to adults, while younger volunteers may participate when supervised by an adult. The organization also welcomes groups and older volunteers.
Rescue organizations often depend on foster families, adopters and volunteers because every dog requires transportation, attention, handling, publicity and eventually the right home.
Sometimes “helping the community” means helping the residents who cannot ask for help themselves.
In this case, they happen to wag their tails.
