Torrance Families Step Up to Support Local Schools |
An upcoming South Bay charity walk gives Torrance families an opportunity to raise money for their own schools while supporting children with special needs. |

Sometimes supporting your neighborhood school begins with something as simple as taking a walk. On Sunday, October 18, families, students, and community supporters will gather for the annual Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, an event supporting children with special needs, public education, and a national college scholarship program. For Torrance families, participation offers a direct way to support their own schools. How Torrance Students Benefit Arnold Elementary School is encouraging students and families to register as members of their grade-level teams and select the Torrance Education Foundation as their contribution recipient. According to the school's announcement, the full $30 registration contribution can then benefit Arnold Elementary. The foundation supports educational opportunities across the Torrance Unified School District, including enrichment, technology, and additional learning experiences. When and Where The walk takes place Sunday, October 18, at Manhattan Beach Pier. The event begins at approximately 9:30 a.m., following morning registration and entertainment. Why Locals Care When families, students, and neighbors come together for local education, the benefits can reach well beyond one school or one event. It's an opportunity to strengthen community connections while helping Torrance students thrive. Learn More: Arnold Elementary School — Friendship Walk Details |
