An Entire Tiny World Is Hiding in Old Torrance |
My Doll’s House turns miniatures into a surprisingly fascinating treasure hunt |

Old Torrance already rewards people who slow down and look inside its independent shops.
This one rewards you for looking very closely.
My Doll's House at 1218 El Prado Avenue is devoted almost entirely to the miniature world: dollhouse kits, tiny furniture, lighting, wallpaper, flooring, room boxes, accessories, tools and collectibles.
The fun is in the details.
A normal lamp becomes a tiny chandelier. A room becomes a room box. Flooring, stair railings, tables and household objects are recreated at a scale small enough to make browsing feel somewhere between shopping and visiting a miniature museum.
The shop serves serious collectors and builders, but you don't need to own a dollhouse to appreciate the craftsmanship. Current visitors describe shelves packed with tiny treasures and intricate pieces, with knowledgeable help available for people actually building miniature projects.
The store’s website currently lists hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Torrance has plenty of big attractions.
This may be the only one where the attraction is how incredibly small everything is.
