Torrance Voters: October 27 Is the Replacement Mail-Ballot Request Deadline |
If your ballot is missing or damaged, act today—and remember that in-person voting remains available. |

Tuesday, October 27, is Los Angeles County’s deadline to request a replacement vote-by-mail ballot for the November 3 General Election. Torrance voters whose ballots are missing or damaged should contact the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk or use its official replacement application today. The county can send a replacement to your current residence or a temporary address. This is a one-time mailing request and does not permanently update your voter-registration address. Use the official application Check every field carefully before submitting. The county warns that an incomplete or inaccurate application can prevent the replacement from being sent to the requested address. The application also states that your initial ballot will be suspended once the replacement request is completed. If you find the original afterward, contact election officials for instructions rather than assuming you should return it. Access the replacement application through the Article Link. You still have other voting options Missing the replacement-mailing deadline does not mean you have missed the election. Selected county vote centers opened October 24, and all vote centers are scheduled to open October 31. The county lists voting hours of 10 a.m.–7 p.m. before Election Day and 7 a.m.–8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. Check the official locator for your chosen center’s opening date before traveling. If you already have your ballot, follow the instructions to sign and date its return envelope. Official drop boxes offer another way to return it by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Mail early and check your plan The California Secretary of State recommends mailing ballots at least seven days before Election Day—October 27 for this election. That recommendation is separate from the legal requirement for a mailed ballot to carry a postmark on or before November 3. If your ballot has not arrived, make the call today. Ask which available option best fits your circumstances and leave enough time to complete it. |
