Unusual Machines completed its acquisition of Upgrade Energy, a drone battery and power-system manufacturer, on October 19.

The local detail: the company says it had already begun increasing production and hiring at Upgrade Energy’s 18,500-square-foot Torrance facility before closing.

The acquisition adds batteries to Unusual Machines’ drone-component business. The company also plans battery-pack operations in Orlando; its announcement does not specify a Torrance hiring total.
