Torrance is heading straight from Labor Day into another stretch of unusually hot weather.

The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory that includes Torrance, beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, and continuing through 8 p.m. Thursday, September 10.

Across the advisory area, temperatures are expected to run 10 to 15 degrees above normal, with readings ranging from the mid-80s in cooler coastal locations to as high as 105 degrees in hotter inland areas. Humid conditions could make the heat feel even more uncomfortable.

The National Weather Service expects Wednesday to be the hottest day for many areas and says there is a possibility the advisory could be extended into Friday.

Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, limit prolonged time in the sun, use air conditioning when possible and check on relatives and neighbors who may be especially vulnerable to heat illness.

If you have outdoor work, exercise or errands planned this week, the cooler morning hours may be the better choice.
