The LA Kings and LA Galaxy are backing the roller rink at Charles H. Wilson Park through a five-year sponsorship with the City of Torrance. AEG announced the partnership on October 23, following an October 21 ribbon-cutting that introduced a new scoreboard and updated signage at the existing facility.

This is an investment in a neighborhood recreation space, not the opening of a new arena. AEG describes the effort as supporting recreation programming and a gathering place for local young people and families. The five-year commitment gives the announcement a longer horizon than the unveiling ceremony, although the release does not provide a new class schedule.

The city’s facility description shows why the space serves several kinds of users. Its outdoor rink has an 86-by-190-foot sport tile surface, spectator seating and goals for team sports. Listed activities include roller hockey, roller derby, futsal, pickleball, box lacrosse and inline skating. The layout can accommodate three futsal fields or six pickleball courts.

For a neighborhood group or team, the next step is to check the city’s reservation information rather than assume the sponsorship changes access rules. Private group reservations are available, and the city directs applicants to its rental policy packet for guidelines, fees and requirements. The application is included in that document.

The rink is at 2200 Jefferson Street, next to the Torrance Batting Cages, according to the city’s recreation booking listing. Questions about reservations can go to the Facility Booking Office at 310-618-5982. Confirm the date, activity and applicable requirements before inviting a group or making other arrangements around a proposed rental.

The useful takeaway is modest but concrete: Wilson Park has an upgraded scoreboard and signage, plus a multiyear sponsorship from two professional teams. Families and organizers still need to check current availability and program details. The announcement does not establish free admission, new drop-in hours or a guaranteed place in a class.
