El Camino College students can now apply for the 2027 scholarship cycle. The college lists Sunday, December 20, 2026, as the closing date, giving applicants time to prepare a thoughtful submission rather than leave it until the end of the semester. The application is available through the Scholarship Application link under Quick Links in MyECC.

The new cycle follows a substantial year of support. In an October 1 announcement, the El Camino College Foundation said it had awarded more than $1 million to more than 675 students. It was the second consecutive year that scholarship funding exceeded that mark. Those figures describe the recent awards, not a promise about what any individual will receive in 2027.

The foundation reported awards ranging from $500 to $16,000, serving students across majors and academic programs. Recipients included people continuing at El Camino and students transferring to four-year colleges or universities. The announcement also highlighted pathways through degrees, certificates and career education, so this is not solely a transfer-student story.

For local households, the useful distinction is what that support can address. The foundation identifies tuition, books, transportation and other education-related costs among the expenses scholarships help students manage. Its donors include individuals, families, businesses and community organizations. The funding connects those community contributions with students pursuing several different routes through college.

The college’s application advice is straightforward: pay attention to deadlines and prepare a strong personal statement. It recommends drafting that statement in a separate document before copying it into the online application. Scholarship criteria can recognize financial need, academic achievement, leadership, community service and campus involvement. Applicants should review the requirements rather than assume one factor decides every award.

Start with the official scholarship page, confirm that you can access MyECC, and leave time to review your submission before December 20. The Scholarship Office lists 310-660-6541 for questions. Applying is the next step; an award is not guaranteed.
